I've always had a tendency to be attracted to older men. They seem to be more sophisticated, and know better how to treat a woman. They've learned a lot of life's lessons, and tend to be more grounded than men my age. They also are more stable in their careers. Of course, the down side, is, there's usually an ex-wife and/or children from a previous marriage you have to learn to deal with. But looking for gain really has nothing to do with it.

Perhaps they are missing a father figure and look towards the male for that. I have noticed older men to be more mature, experienced, respectful, and ready for a serious relationship versus most men our own age... but I would personally never look to someone that much older! I guess if you've been screwed over by a guy your age, you look for security with someone repsonsible enough to give your heart to.
-----------------------
- Women usually mature faster than men. younger women like older guys because they're on the same developmental level.
- By the time they reach their 30s, men know we come in all shapes and sizes. 'You're fabulous no matter what'—they know that's a good message to send."
- "Guys in their 30s are also much less cocky; life has already dealt them some blows,"
- They "hang onto whatever they can get because they're closer to death."

Who are you to judge people and "give them a piece of your mind"? What a nerve! None of us has to live our life according to other people's prejudices or society's conventions. People are together because they WANT to be together - it takes two - and whether or not YOU think their reasons are sincere, the arrangement obviously suits THEM. In your books, is ANY age gap permissable - and where do you draw the line? 2 years, 5 years, 10 years? Don't be so ridiculous! Age is so unimportant in a relationship - compatibility is the key. Older men/younger women and likewise older women/younger men are enjoying very happy relationships without YOUR interference, thank you very much!

I grew up with a lot of uncertainty in my life, so for me the big thing was the feeling of stability and safety that came from this relationship. I was 22, he was 34. He had his crap together, and I was attracted to his sense of responsibility. It ultimately did not work out, but that was more my fault than his.

If she's twelve, I doubt its love...but she thinks she's in love. Its more the excitement that an adult male thinks she's worthy of his attention, and that (along with sexual attraction) is often MISTAKEN for true love. Even people well into their twenties get caught up in this mistake.
True love is more like being best friends.

How can one explain love? It just happens. I can say that older men are sexy though, for us women that need that type of comfort.

Girls seem to mature earlier than boys.
Older men appear more mature to them, hence more attraction.
Older men would be more secure or set which don't hurt.
