if you mean in their primes, i think jones would outbox him. sugar ray leonard gave hagler loads of problem because of his movement and his handspeed. jones had good movement and has probably had even faster hands than ray leonard. and he threw combinations effortlessly and constantly. also, leonard didn't carry his power up to middleweight, whereas jones was known as a power puncher when he was middleweight. so, though i don't think jones would knock out hagler since nobody could, i think he could hit hagler hard enough to make him backup.i think he could box to unanimous decision, but it would tough since hagler is such a warrior.

I rank Marvin Hagler (tie with Monzon) as the 2nd greatest middleweight of all time behind only Sugar Ray Robinson. Hagler could box, had power and could take a punch. He was also very determined and all business inside the ring. Jones Jr certainly has the edge in speed but has a careless streak about him and can't take a hard shot the way Hagler could. This would definetly spell trouble for Jones Jr. I believe that Hagler would be the aggressive fighter in this matchup and press the action against Jones who would throw fast punches with little effect on the iron chinned Hagler. This would go on for about 6 rounds when Jones Jr. leaves himself open after firing a jab and Hagler delivers a crunching right hook in round 10 putting Roy down for the 10 count. Good question sir!

The Marvelous one .... Hagler never backed down and fought the best, where Roy fought weaker opponents for the most part. Also, Hagler could take a punch better and I don't think Roy could handle his power.

I DON'T THINK ROY JONES COULD MATCH POWER FOR PWER WITH MARVIN HAGLER. YET HIS OVERALL HAND SPEED, FOOT SPEED, AND SHEER BODY MOVEMENT WOULD BE TOO MUCH TO HANDLE. I THINK ROY WOULD TRY TO TAKEMARVIN INTO THE LATER ROUNDS AND WIN ON POINTS.

ROY JONES WOULD USE THE SURGAR RAY LEONARD TAPE AS THE WAY TO DEFEAR MARVIN HAGLER. JUST WITH A LOT MORE POP IN HIS GLOVES.

now this is a tougher one because roy was almost flawless at this weight but people really under estimate marvin's boxing skills and just thought he was a brawler but let's not forget marvin competed against some legendary fighters of all time and performed greatly, with ray leonard you have one of the best if not the best fighter from the 80's to now and lost a close decision to one of the most pure boxers of all time, in roberto duran he fought to a draw with a legend, agreat all around boxer and a guy who if he hits you it gonna hurt and then the classic with hearns who is another hard hitter and nice boxer. in roy you have a quick fighter with nice power but hasn't been in any wars which makes a fighter tough i can't see him going the distance with marvin seeing how he got tired against tarver and anytime roy get hit so far he's either hurt or going down and marvin had great power and accurate punches. i'll take marvin surprisly by ko in the 8th(AND FOR THOSE WHO SAY HE BEAT LEONARD IT WAS REALLY CLOSE BUT LEONARD DID EDGE HIM OUT)

In their prime, Jones Jr. He would have been way to quick for Hagler, and out pointed him.

Hagler.

He beat Hearns in the greatest 3 rounds in boxcing, he beat Duran (I think), and he beat Leaonard (despite the scorecard - anyone who saw that fight knows Hagler won).

Jones Jr. was more myth than man. Never fought anybody worth a damn.
