im a marine now, so i have experience in combat and im an expert marksman. i am very interested in swat and im about to get out of the marine corps, so now im looking into swat but i dont know how i would go about getting into it.

You have to pass an interview and a physical agility test. Being in top physical shape always helps. You have to attend training regularly, and be proficient in a variety of weapons that Swat Team Members use.

Like many departments you have to pay your dues as a patrolman for a while, and then you can apply, but you have to have certain talents to be considered, like being a damn good shot, able to use size and wieght and strength to take down doors and suspects and there are other options to what they are looking for in a SWAT team member.

You first have to become a cop. Then you can apply for SWAT after your probation is over. You just can't walk in and tell them you want to be a SWAT officer....Semper Fi
