It depends on the personality and charactor of the couple. In my own case, I am an unbeliever, my wife attended the Lutheran church regularly ( it was a very important part of her life ).
We have been married for fifty-three years. No two people could possibly be more contented or happier in their marriage.

Yes. But only until they have children. Once your child is in the picture, religion does get in the way. Unless of course the couple talks it over before they have kids and decide what to do. Catholic and Baptist are Christian Religions, so they won't get into that much trouble!

Maybe short term they can, but long term it will put a strain on their relationship. What happens when they have kids- are the Catholic or Baptist? Mom will want her kids to be Catholic, Dad will want them to be Baptist. Oh I know, they will let the kids choose their own way- that is crap and lazy parenting. What happens when he decides they are done having kids, but she wont use birth control because it is contrary to what she believes? Baptists have strong values- what if he wants to raise his kids with those values because that is what he believes, but she doesn't agree? Not to mention, what happens when kids ask about God and death and all of that.

In a marriage, the couple should have a united front. Parents should have a United front. That is not possible if your core beliefs are different.

Interesting question. I started out Catholic, and now am mostly Baptist. There are issues that I cannot resolve within myself. If you can keep love in the forefront, and side issues to the side, you should be okay. My biggest issues are with Eucharist vs Communion, and the nature of prayer vs the nature of worship. If you can agree on those issues, you have it made.

Yes it is possible but at some point if they marry there will be an issue as the Catholic church will expect any children to be raised as Cathlolics. This should be discussed before the topic of marriage arises or it will be an issue.

Baptists are crazy and alot of them hate Catholics. What do the families think? That is the bigger issue.

They can get along fine, but the deeper issues are a problem. If they had a kid, would he be infant baptised in the Catholic church? What kind of church would they attend?

Generally, one crosses over. It can work, but it is "work."

Yes they can. It is called ARC Affinity+Reality+Communication=. By using these three things you can have a good relationship with anyone you choose to.

Depends on how deep their bigotry runs.

"We shouldn't be unequally yolked with non-believers.....and yes....I consider a catholic to be a non-believer."

"Baptists are crazy and alot of them hate Catholics."

Such people are bound to butt heads with anybody who neglects to group-think with them; so they may as well chose somebody from their own Herd.
