Contact a very good lawyer. If your cousin is taking money for your grandma's use, that's one thing. If your cousin is taking the money for personal use that's another. Is your grandma mentally competent to put a stop to the co-signer, all she has to do is contact the bank and cancel the co-signor. You may also want to contact your local county court house to see if they have someone who specializes in elder law or a department on elder law. Good luck and God Bless.

If you can prove it, you need to take that proof to the rest of the family. With their backing you may be able to convince the cousin to be more responsible or grandma to remove her as co-signer. And you'll have more backing if neither of those works and you have to take legal actions.

There are laws to protect the elderly in every state. Try looking in the 'phone book for a local, or state agency that deals specifically with elder abuse, and report your cousin immediately. Maybe you should call your local police department for the 'phone number. I loathe anyone who would take advantage of an elderly person- they are scum.
