Psych meds take time to work. Citalopram, for example, takes 6 to 8 weeks to take full effect. I'm not familiar with the other meds. I myself am on meds and tried many combinations before I got the right "cocktail." My diagonsise are bipolar 2, and chronic depression. I am now feeling great but felt awful for a very long time.
Don't give up. Give your meds time to work. If you have and they are not, back to the doc. If he doesn't respond to you as you expect, get a new doc. Keep after it. There is a solution.
I have to tell you that regular (daily) aerobic exercise has helped me more than anything else. Start easy, and keep gradually increasing as your baody adjusts. Get some info on target heart rates from the internet. It is a mistake to expect meds alone to do the whole job.

If everyone with serious mental health problems were forced to take medication humanity would lose a great deal of innovation. Ludwig van Beethoven had bipolar disorder. Isaac Newton was diagnosed bipolar after several "nervous breakdowns". Abraham Lincoln suffered from severe and debilitating and on occasion suicidal depressions. Vincent Van Gogh, Winston Churchill, John Nash, Dr. Kay Redfield Jamison, there are really to many to list. With all due respect, I doubt you're family is as important to humanity as any of the many psychotic people who made contributions to history. Can you imagine Beethoven's music if he had been on Sequel? How about Newton? If he were drugged we wouldn't have modern physics, we'd still have alchemists trying to convert lead into gold...

If these medications are not working for you contact the doctor and maybe he can presribe something else because some times after you have taken the same medicine for awhile your body gets immune to it and the effects of the medicine no longer work ! Good Luck!!

If they don't work it mean you should look for the cause in different place!...I suggest you to visit nutritional therapist and discuss with them your problems..Diet and Nutrition may kill and may heal..depends how is used!...but if you keep taking the medicine I don't think you will get anything better but destroying your organs and eventually end up with degenerative disease so make the step before the harm done is too bad that no one will be able to return the clock!

that sounds like an awful like of meds....maybe they aren't working together...I would go back to your doctor and explain that you aren't feeling better and see if he changes your meds. I know I wouldn't take that many. No, I don't think your docotr would give you placebo's as he could get in trouble with the prices you have to pay for med's and doctor's know that. Good luck and please go back to your doctor and explain alll to him/her..if you don't feel comfortable get a second opinion...

Those are too expensive to placebos. If you were getting placebos it would be sugar looking like a pill.

if you are taking all of these at the same time it sounds like it too much , if not working tell her you would like to try something else .and maybe see a new doctor that may be better at helping you.
