I bought all these awesome lenses for my old canon ae-1 and now need a converter. What new digital camera body works with the old lenses? Theyre in excellent shape. I keep hearing mixed reviews about converters that either they do exist or they dont or if they do exist you loose quality. Where can I get a converter and what digital body is compatible with FD lenses?
thanks for your help!

No new camera has worked with FD lenses since Canon switched to the EF lens mount in 1987. They use the EF mount for their digital line, too. Converters exist but they're generally not worth wile. Here's more on that: http://photography-on-the.net/forum/showthread.php?t=57023
If you do decide to use a converter, also know that none of the dSLR models have a split prism focussing screen. You CAN oder one seperately however. A company called Katz Eye Optics sells them for around $100 and they get good user reviews in various forums.

No canon has stop producing FD lenses...
However fear not...there are converter for FD lenses for
used in the new canon EOS system.
All u hav to do is google for it...
I hav seen the conveter before...so it shouldnt be a problem
finding it. The conveter also doesnt lose ani quality..at all when
interchange...so no worries at all

regrettably, there's no adapter made for EF mount lenses to an FD mount physique. the sole answer is to purchase a Canon EOS revolt 35mm action picture digicam that makes use of the EF lens mount. be conscious: do no longer attempt to apply Canon EF-S lenses on your Canon EOS revolt 35mm action picture digicam or a Canon comprehensive-physique DSLR like the 5D or 1D.

Your s*** out of luck Canon in all it's wisdom change their lens mount when they went to auto focus cameras. That's why I went with Nikon, plus they make better cameras than Canon..
