Lately I've been doing something that I swore I wouldn't ever do: messing around with a guy without first being in a relationship. We're not having sex, but there have been a few "sleepovers" in which we do fool around a bit.

We have a lot of mutual friends and they all tell me that he's interested in dating me, but has trouble trusting women because his fiance cheated on him. It's been 5 years and he still hasn't gotten involved with any other women. He's been on a few first dates, but no seconds. He told one of my best friends the other night that he wishes he could trust women because he really would like to get back into a relationship.

What do you think about the situation? Am I just setting myself up to be hurt because he isn't ready to start dating again? How can I get to the first date with him?

I know that it's going to take him quite a bit of time to open up, but I'm willing to wait a while for him.

Yeah your best bet is to wait for him to make the moves unless of course its taking terribly long time then its your time to put the moves on him. Now if he is showing interest in you and you have heard through the grapevine that he may be interested in you then you probably want to go ahead and try to get him out on a casual date but dont push the issue...

Another thing to be concerned about is that if he cannot trust females again then you may want to consider the fact that he could become controlling against you if you were to get into this relationship. He would probably want to know your every move, so just be aware

You need to move on with him or without him If you keep this up you are hurting both of you.
Him by not forcing him to face his feelings and get over the cheating scandal with his fiancee and you by not asking for the respect that you deserve by him dating you before getting the goodies.
It doesn't matter if you have had sex or not.....I am sure you are both ummmm "satisfied" by the end of the night and that is just the same as having casual sex.
Please do me a favor and tell him you want to be a dating couple or you want to move on and find someone to date.

Sometimes people never truely get over the one they lost due to one reason or another. Sounds to me that this guy needs you to do something to show he can trust you or he'll never come around. Be in a friendly, trusting relationship for a while and don't push it.
