I was just wondering whether someone while under the influence (drunk) is likely to tell to the truth, just be more honest with what they are saying... I know this person that hates to talk about certain things but when under the influence speaks out her mind like there's no tomorrow... Can these things being said be taken to be true, out of her subconscious, or can they just be random mumbling due to the alcohol... Can you guys help me here, there are some things that were said that are very important to me if they were to be true... should i take them as serious or simply desregard them as b.s. due to the alcohol? Thanks.

Ok, this girl i am seriously in love with, but she has a boyfriend, which is why i stay away. Out of no where she came and told me that she "loved me and that she wanted to be with me," i always suspected that she liked me but i was never sure, she hinted it sometimes but i always took it as careless flirting. Mind you she's always fighting with her boyfriend and have broken up a bunch of times. what do you guys think?

Well if they have broken up "a bunch of times" the relationship isnt healthy anyway.
I dont think that a person is nessicarily MORE credible when drunk. Inhabitions are down but she could have been feeling insecure and by telling you these things she knew you would react in a positive way giving her reassurance.
It is always a 50/50 when trying to decide if a person is teling the truth or full of crap while drunk.
Good luck to you with the girl

Being drunk is not a good way to be. Believe me, I have done enough drinking in my life to know this is true. There is an old saying from Latin that says "In vino, veritas". It more or less means "in wine there is truth". I think that it means that since one of the effects of alcohol is loss of or lessening of inhibitions; therefore, a person is liable to say things that they would normally be too inhibited to say. You have to remember though, that there is a big difference between someone who has one or two drinks and becomes talkative and someone who is sloppy falling-down puking drunk. You cannot give any credibility to anybody who is in that shape.
Try not to drink too much and avoid hanging out with people who habitually get really intoxicated.

'En Vino Veritas' Latin for 'in wine there is truth'. I dont think people are more necessarily more truthful when they are drunk but they are definetly braver and will say things they normally wouldnt. I wouldnt disregard it.

We have a saying in my country (Latvia) "what a sober person has on his/her mind, a drunk person has on his/her tongue"
I think its true but anything a drunk person says might be a little exaggerated.

If you can take her boyfriend in a fight, go for it, otherwise avoid the *** beating. Unless you don't mind *** beatings, in which case go for it either way.
