I found out that its not in style anymore because my mom used to change it now and then and but different colors and now the last time she changed it she did not USED ANY CARPET and i been to a lot of friends houses and they don't have any carpet either
So i really think that carpet its not in style like it used to... 3 of my friends bought used homes and when i went to go check it out they had carpet everywhere even at the restrooms and at the laundry room.. it did not stay there for long cause they got rid of the carpet those are houses that are more than 60 years old

I don't think carpet is a style, it's a choice. I like the look of hardwood floors, but it's inconvenient for me and my family. I would rather vacuum and steam clean (I have my own) than to dust mop and never get all the dirt. Also, I have three dogs. If I got hardwood, they would slide everywhere and I'm afraid they would leave scratch marks all over the floor. My husband likes carpet in the living room because he likes to lay in the floor to watch tv because he says it feels better on his back than laying on a couch.
So don't remove your carpet because you're afraid of being out of style. Make the choice based on how you live.

I'm getting rid of mine in the living room and in the kitchen. Former owner put pale beige carpet wall to wall in the living room. In the year we've lived here, my husband has spilled a cup of coffee, my grandaughter threw up on it, etc. Stains that I can't totally get out.
Always spilling stuff in the kitchen. Not even to mention that it is difficult to roll my portable dishwasher over it, to the sink. Who ever thought carpet would be nice in the kitchen, anyway?
Wood laminate (looks like hardwood, but very durable) is my choice. Can add little area rugs (washable ones) where most wear and tear would be.
