I’ve had panic attacks or anxiety attacks recently. For a while they went away, but now they seem to be back. I’ve had two in the last 4 days. My wife told me I woke up screaming one night and the other I woke up and my heart was racing and I felt like I was going to die. I was tested for heart problems a year ago, but they didn’t come back with anything. My doctor prescribed me with Toprol when I had those problems a year ago, but it didn’t seem to help. Is there anything I can do naturally to stop this? My wife says that I worry too much. I think life is overwhelming. It seems like nothing is safe(e.g. Most food has artery clogging trans-fat in it, the water is tainted with chlorine, metals and who knows what else and Milk has hormones and anti-biotics added to it) and most people are heartless.

I was on all kinds of medicine and I hated taking the stuff cause I could never remember it so I tried counting to 20 cause 10 wasn't long enough and just told myself what ever happens God will take care of it. If it wasn't meant to be so be it. He has helped me so much!!! When u feel yourself getting frustrated talk to him and he will get u thru it.
I was in a wreck at 14 and suffered a head injury where they told my mom I would be a vetetable and not function normally again which they were partially right. I can wwalk and talk with some difficulty but they kept me alive which I don't know why. He wasn't ready for me yet I keep telling myself.

It seems like you are having more night terrors then panic attacks. You might want to try not eating before you go to bet. Go to bed hungry, and you are less likely to experience bad dreams. Have a hot cup of chamomile tea before you got to sleep. Try some calming exercises as you lie in bed. Focus on the good.

Alternatively if you are having a panic attack during the day, and are all alone, I like to tense up all of my muscles and scream at the top of my lungs for about 2 minutes, and I feel so much better when I am done.

I have read some litterature about panic attacks. But they allways seem to have a more scientific approach and that is nothing I need in my struggle to survive those horrible panic attacks. This is a "hand on" and very practical book. I felt it was written to me. I am sure that you are going to feel the same.

Joe Barry writes exactly how I think. The examples are perfectly described. And the method is genius. I recommend this book and thanks Joe Barry for writing it. It changes your life

Take slow deep breaths when you feel panic rising. Try telling telling yourself that worry changes nothing, it is a useless emotion. Envision a serene place, or try reminding yourself of all that is going alright in your life.

I get them all the time. I thought I had high blood pressure and went to the doctor after having a nervous breakdown at work. She prescribed me Welbutrin and it worked great. Unfortunatly I ran out of them so I am letting my stress get to me. My doctor told me to have some alone time without my kids, without working, and just relax.

Exercise every day, and have a brandy or scotch before bed. These things helped me sleep during a rough patch when I woke up every night in a panicked sweat.

Exercise. It releases endorphins, which helps increase the "happy" feelings.
