During tha WW2 some german rocket plane was designed to use coal pouldre as fuel, an german scientists realized an industrial process to produce fuel from coal.....and experiments took place in order to mount on B-36 a nuclear reactor to produce electricity, and the plane had to be powered by electric engines(the same layout of CVN and nuclear submarines) and some NASA prototipes were powered by solar arrays......I think we will find a solution ...an in the future fuel cells may be used...

NO, asking that is like asking if cars will end... simply, NO... what are we going to do, swim across the ocean, and before you say we could use boats, they are less fuel efficient than airplanes... not to mention travel times in the category of 10X or more faster on an airplane than a cruise ship... Only way airplanes could stop is if we have world peace (never gonna happen)... everyone agrees to stop traveling (Big business fails)... and there is literaly NO fuel left in the world... by that time we will have ways for jets to run on biodesel and such and therefore none of the above will ever happen leading me to believe that airplanes will be around forever.

There is no foreseeable end to the use of aircraft.

We may come up woth other ways to power them...

Modern thin film solar panels, high power density batteries and "brushels electric motors" are looking more and more promissing. You coud cover an aircraft's wing completely in solar panels to collect energy and use the high capacity batteries to store energy.

At the current state of technology (appx 5% efficiency solar cells) the power use to power generation rate is pretty poor. but you can fly a plane that way. Its just not practical for anything beyond experimenting right now.

Yes they will, but it will not be for another 50 years. Aviation technology has not been accelerating rather fast since the year airplanes were invented.

They might invent some way of cutting back on the fuel, like lightweight hybrid fuel cells, or hyper-receptive solar cells, or something to that effect. But airplanes will generally be made the way they have been.

The aircraft is the epitome of human ingenuity. It has overcome so many adversities, including the much dreaded gravity.

When it comes to fuel, it will overcome that too. Its been the cutting edge of technology ever since it had come of age and will continue to be so. If you look around you can see so many variations in aircraft designs that have adapted themseleves as situation demanded. (Big ones, smal ones, rotary wings, swing wings, amphibians and so on)

I reckon, it will be the airplanes that will cause the development of practical alternative energy source.

No. Have you ever considered how many things besides passengers travel by air? As long as people and cargo have to travel over long distances fast...airplanes will always be around, are you a dumb jerk? Or are you afraid of airplanes and flying?
