"Emancipation" is the freeing of a minor child from the control of parents and allowing the minor to live on his/her own, or under the control of others.
It usually applies to adolescents who leave the parents' household by agreement or demand.
Emancipation may also end the responsibility of a parent for the acts of a child, including debts, negligence or criminal acts.
Sometimes it is one of the events which cuts off the obligation of a divorced parent to pay child support.
MOST states age for emancipation are 18 or 19. Getting pregnant does not emancipate you. Your emancipation is also determined upon the state of which you reside NOT the state of which you were born!
By looking at the emancipation laws of YOUR state, you can determine at what age you are legally emancipated or what steps to emancipate yourself!
Best wishes!

You need to get the paperwork from the court, fill it out and have your parents sign and submit it to the court. Usually you will get a response my mail, if parents can't or won't sign, you may have to be heard by a judge. He will ask about your ability to take care of yourself, what your future plans are and how you intend to go about your business, he wants to see if your able to care for yourself...

You have to petition the court for permission, and cite your reasons for doing so.
