It's early days yet....tell him that you're not interested in that way-be honest and nice about it. Not everyone clicks in that way...you have a right to decide that and he has the right to know.

just, be calm. say, "i'm sorry (let's say his name is Robert) Rob, these past few days have been great, but... I don't really think that I can see you as much more than a friend." Look him straight in the eye, and be sure to talk kind of slowly. Don't be nervous. If he does love you, he'll understand.

The best of luck to you. I know it's hard. And I don't know you, but I know you can do it. =]

The best way is flat out; lay your cards on the table and tell him you aren't interested in pursuing this relationship. Few of us are that strong, however, but you should at least make the attempt.

Let him know in a nice way, dont hurt him although he may not be so sensitive.

Perhaps when he comes round you can say

'I thought that you were seeing your other girl friend tonight'

& if he says no 'you are my only girl friend'

You could say 'Was'
& tell him that you are seeing me.

Just be honest about it and not nasty of funny. Tell him straight then you both know where you stand. Honesty is always the best policy, avoids any confusion later on.

Just say,

"I like you as a person, but I just cant see us happening, its up to yourself but i would really like to stay friends" straight and to the point.

the likelyhood is he wont be that upset, guys are resiliant and take things alot better then us, think about your actual male friends, how many times have you seen them really upset over a girl...?

Good luck hun.

ive been in this situation before and told him that he was a good friend but it wasnt going any further ....turned out that he felt the same ....so dont worry too much just tell him straight but if he gets nasty as they sometimes can as they dont like rejection ....
its his problem not yours

Call him, make sure the first thing you say after "Hello" is that you have to end the relationship. You don't have to tell him why. Although, if he asks, tell him the truth.

The shortest distance between destinations is a straight line.
Tell him the truth and the fall out will be minimal - no more than 15 minutes.
String him along and the fall out will be perpetual - indefinite.
Clean break so both parties can move forward, but don't be callous.
Be honest, he'll appreciate that, even though he will not admit it.

Good luck.

Tell him that you just do not see the relationship being any more than a casual friendship.
