I hear that wearing them helps them correct themselves, and I hear that wearing them makes them dependant on glasses.

I can see things very close. My glasses make my vision 20/20 while wearing them.


My optometrist said that I am near sighted, so, if that helps.

If you wear glasses to read or just distant vision improvement,they become your way of life.BIfocals are the same.You will find yhat your vision changes about every three years,and you will need new lenses.This is a normal progression of biological changes in eyes do to aging.We do not like it, but our whole body changes each year.If you buy expensive frames remember to get light flexible frames that give you the most comfort.Remember also that styles in frames change,so go middle of the road on price of frames.A good doctor and caring practice can help you make the best and most comfortable choices(tints,sun glasses)I spent a fortune learning how to select comfort,the most important thing you must have in glasses.Your eyes do not correct themseves because you wear glasses,they only help you see as you get older.There are options to have operations that allow you to see differently out of each eye,.distance from one eye,up close from the othe eye.They are expenseve,but you would not need glasses per se.There are other things that happen to the eyes for much older people,cateracts.The operation for cateracts uses artificial lens in each eye,you will not need glasses to see distance just to read. Nothing beats our youthful eyes enjoy! It depends what kind of vision problem you have. I used to be near- sighted as a kid, but after wearing my glasses for years, my vision corrected itself, and I don't need glasses anymore.

if you are wearing glasses for correction of Myopia, -shortsightedness, and if your myopia is genetic in origin, inspite of glasses, your vision might deteriorate,. on the other hand , glasses need to be worn constantly in cases of myopia. mild degrees of hypermetropia, -longsight- vision does show improvement after some time with glasses ; youmay even discard the glasses later on. nowadays there are better alternatives- even contact lenses have given way to lasix .
