I have recently rescued a ferret and have two carts who are interested but not being agressive. I am wondering what would happen if it kicked off and who would be off to the vet first.

I am both a cat owner and ferret breeder. You can introduce them. Many cats and ferrets coexhist without a hitch. My one cat used to like to sleep in the ferret cage with the ferrets in their hammock. The ferret will pester your cats. When you introduce them, try to do so in a smaller room where your cats have an out - a table to jump on, chair, etc. Your kitties will be able to take care of themselves and will, more than likely, rather leave than fight. The ferret is more interested in a game than fighting as well. Go for it!

Depends on the respective sizes, age, weight, fitness, and temperaments of the kitties versus the wee guy !

If you're convinced that they're used to each other and get along all right, let them interact freely, but supervise them for a while to be sure. Make sure the ferret has an escape route, a barrier the cat can't get through or a safe hiding place.

I have kept ferrets since I was a kid and although they can be fast and can bite hard, I would not give them a snowball's chance in hell against a fully grown cat. Cats do tend to give ferrets a wide berth, possibly because of the smell of their musk which gets much stronger when they are agitated.
My advice - if a cat and a ferret are at war, wear protection to separate them!!

I'd put money on the Ferret. There's never been an 1960's British Army armoured vehicle named after a cat. Plus ferrets know Karate.

I don't have any ferrets myself, but I have a friend who has both ferrets and cats and they get along fine.
You must introduce them slowly and don't try to rush anything.
I wouldn't leave them alone in the same room unattended until you're sure that they're not going to fight.
As to who would get the worst end of the deal in a fight, I don't know and if you introduce them to each other slowly, you'll never have to find out.

they're taking part in.:) The ferret felt like having some relaxing,so it chased the kitty away from mattress;it needless to say needed to make her get up and play with. Althought the cat did no longer experience like it on the start the ferret's sturdy temper made her substitute her ideas. nevertheless it appeared to me your kitty did no longer get became a sport on the start.

Ferrets are ferocious fighters, even more fierce than cats so would depend how big the cat was.
