the person nobby is actually noddy holder from a group called the Slade. He used to shout a lot and they used a spoof of him for thier advert making us believe they spelt his name wrong. All very silly (i thought) but noddy/nobby is a british icon somewhere amoungst Slade fans, of which I'm not.

nobby is a brand name. The bloke in the advert is noddy from the band Slade.
