Generally, I dig on infectious diseases, but I have to say, genetic disorders are fascinating.

Patau's syndrome is trisomy of chromosome 13. It's considered the most severe kind of trisomy that could result in live birth (though the babies usually die very shortly thereafter). The pictures of Patau babies are pretty disturbing. Many are born with one centered eye, polydactyly and various organ defects.

You might want to look up various forms of aneuploidy and read up on cellular genetics for a better understanding of the conditions. The results are pretty interesting to discuss.

suggested conditions: Trisomy 18, Praeder-Willi Syndrome, Angelman Syndrome...

Considering that conditions such as Patau and others exist, it's a miracle that so many of our progeny turn out okay.

There was a tv documentary on yesterday about conjoined twins. What made this programme unique was the fact that they shared a body and they looked just like a two-headed person but in fact they were two separate people with two spines but only two arms and two legs. It was amazing to see them. There are no other surviving occurrences of this condition. Even the medical profession are baffled how they survive. But they are living happy, healthy lives and attend normal school.

Lesch-Nyhan syndrome- a genetic disorder that causes mental retardation and self-mutilation. It is caused by a deficiency of HGPRT. Once again, I'm not sure why you would want to talk about this in an interview.

Necrotizing Fasciaitis I don't know if this is spelled correctly...But its when a certain bacteria ests you from the inside out. By the time they catch it it's too late. I always thought tthat would be the scariest thing to go through. see the NNFF website for stories of survivors-the minority.
