Who told you that evil is only in the dark? That's just scary movies and humans trying to make themselves feel better. Evil is around you all day every day, in the light and in the dark. God permits evil to go wherever he wants it to go. If he wants it in your face in the middle of the beach then he will put it there. But the reason for evil coming out in the dark is because the devil is mocking Jesus. Jesus died on the cross at 3:00 p.m. and for everything that is holy the devil mocks. (like the sign for the devil is an upside down cross for example) so the devil mocks this with making the "witching hour" or a time when the demons and spirits are more active at 3:00 a.m. when it is dark.

They don't. That is part of the old afraid of the dark, the unknown culture of our caveman ancestors. Unfortunately it has not evolved out. Most people still are afraid of the dark. One of the reasons that africans were so persecuted by Europeans was because of their color--they were taught that black meant evil, then they found a whole continent of black people, so they must be evil. Humans are really quite stupid at times.

Because people who invented the dark entity are afraid of the dark. When you can't see anything and all around you is shapeless, thick, darkness, who knows what might be laying in wait for you?

Define 'evil'.

Saying that evil people prefer to dwell in the dark is like saying that good people only like to live in three story houses.

Where did you hear that? Is this a serious question?

Because humans are afraid of the dark so those are the attrributes we give to what we fear, like mythical evil beings.

If we had evolved from a nocturnal species, our whole idea of "scary" would be quite different.

Me. I have a migraine condition, avoid sun light, love dark places. I don't see anything else in this cave with me. Is there something here?

Oops. I also can't see in here. I thought you said "what". Sorry.

Evil (darkness) has no existence, its absence of light. Evil is out of ignorance. When light dawns ignorance vanishes by itself.
