The Spanish and French will help you a lot. I think that Italian is about halfway in between those other two languages, with fairly simple pronunciation (far easier than French, not quite as easy as Spanish).

The grammar rules you learned in those other languages will be largely the same in Italian, and many of the worlds are very similar to either the French word, the Spanish word, or both.

French will be an immense help, because the french grammar rules apply to Italian. Obviously a lot of the vocabulary is similar, since both languages derive from latin - plus the italian pronounciation is easier, what you read is mostly what you speak (sometimes this is tricky, because you may confuse some words). Try to watch italian movies and read magazines. And don't be disappointed if when in Italy you don't understand a word, they have a lot of dialects, especially in the south.

It's actually a very easy language.
Since you already speak a little French and Spanish, it might help, although at the same time, you might be getting the three mixed up sometimes.
Good luck with learning!

Italian is a pretty easy language to understand and rad if you already speak Spanish and other Latin based languages but if you want to speak properly it is fairly difficult because you could confuse the Spanish grammar with the Italian one.

Find an Italian boyfriend (direct practice with real Italian always works best!), plus your knowledge of Spanish & French, you will master the daily conversation :)

I speak English as my native tongue, and Spanish as a 2nd language.I found that when I tried to learn Italian, reading was somewhat easy for me--the words are so similar to Spanish so often. What was difficult was the pronunciation--which varies greatly from Spanish.
Good luck.

No, not really. It is similar to Spanish. I learned from my parents by just being around them. Like any language, you have to apply yourself in the process in learning.

it is easier to learn a language if you use it in practical terms and daily conversation. Like if you go to Japan before you know it you have already integrated their language. Konichi wa.
