There was a very important issue at stake. The issue of universal soverignty. The angelic sons of God were spectators to this process. In front of others, Satan had challenged God's right to rule. Adam and eve were perfect, which we imperfect people do not fully understand. The first prophecy of the Bible (Genesis 3:15) reveals that God was setting things in motion to resolve this issue which Satan raised. That issue is about to be settled for good.

Adam and Eve had misused their free will. Instead of obeying the divine command, they chose to do what God had declared to be bad, and so they sinned. Sin means missing the mark—the goal of perfect obedience to God. But what was the punishment for this sin?

God had warned Adam: “In the day you eat from it [the forbidden tree] you will positively die.” (Genesis 2:17) Afterward, God pronounced this sentence upon Adam: “In the sweat of your face you will eat bread until you return to the ground, for out of it you were taken. For dust you are and to dust you will return.”—Genesis 3:19.

God did not forgive Adam for his disobedience. Instead, He put Adam and his wife out of Paradise and did not allow them back in. (Genesis 3:23) Why? Because their transgression was grave. They had willfully disobeyed God and had gone against his will for them. Never may it be said that God was responsible for their offense. He had created them perfect and had endowed them with the quality of free will and the accountability that came with it. They were fully able to obey him and so remain in Paradise forever. However, they chose to turn away from God’s guidance and to follow Satan, thereby meriting punishment.

We don't know that Adam repented, and if he didn't, how can he be forgiven (1 Timothy 2:14)

The law that Israel was given through Moses showed that people are not perfect, and therefore everyone sin's (Romans 3:20, 23). It showed that we needed Jesus, who born from a virgin, did not inherit sin and was perfect.

As the only other perfect person apart from Adam and Eve, unlike them he stayed faithful to God. Putting God's will above his own, even if it ment dying (Luke 22:42).

A benefit for the amount of time passing, is that we can use the examples and advise in the Bible to help us now (1 Corinthians 10:11). As well, to have eternal life, we need to learn about God's will and apply it to our lives (John 17:3), and as the Bible say's, God isn't slow he just want's everyone to be saved (2 Peter 3:9-10).

If I am not mistaken, I think jesus was an angel in heaven who offered to sacrifice himself on behalf of everybody else so god sent him to earth. But it was jesus' idea. thats why you pray to jesus for forgiveness.. In the old testament god was very just you know an eye for an eye and stoning people to death sacrifices and all kinds of crazy things..but then jesus came along with his idea of forgiveness and this is show in the new testament...that is why there are certain religions who only believe in one testament or the other but not both.

Adam was forgiven. Sin was still brought into the world though through his act of disobeying. Prior to Satan tempting Eve and Adam following with her, the World was without sin and human kind was not cursed with death. The reason Jesus had to die for our sins is so that he could defeat death (death which Satan brought into the world with sin) Jesus defeated death by dying on the cross, being buried, and then RAISING UP back ALIVE on the 3rd day. Death is defeated so now eternal life in Heaven is possible again to those who make the choice to accept the gift of salvation through Jesus.

Nah, a "just" god would rather curse all life with death and suffering because of what 2 people did, and then sends jesus (when he gets around to) it to feel a fraction of the pain humanity has had to put up with. And in the end there is still death and suffering, but now with false promises of an after life.

He did forgive Adam he allowed him to be reconciled by shedding blood and clothing him. However, it would take Jesus to wipe away his sins permanently. Could it of happened sooner? Possibly, but remember we do not think God's thoughts nor our His ways our ways.

It would have been easier for Adam more like and in the end, he would have not learned anything. I think God had already forgiven Adam but to let him go unpunished would not have served him well. God is our Father, Our Creator, and as such, he gave us the freedom to choose how to live our life, and how to serve Him. It was Adam's choice to follow Eve's suggestion to take the forbidden fruit, as well as Eve's to take it. This blatant disregard to God's rule (for God's sake! It was just one rule!!) was both their downfall, punishment had to follow. God forgives us for our trespasses, and I believe he did the same for both Adam and Eve, he just could not turn a blind eye to their betrayal.

Just an opinion :D.

I guess we can make assumptions of what would have been more simple, but that still is not going to answer this question. If God would not have sent Jesus to sacrifice for us, where would Christianity be?

Apparently not. He doesn't make mistakes, so he thought it best the way he did things and I am not going to judge him, I am just going to have faith in God.
