You can check with any county court clerk office that maintains online records (places that you've lived and/or visited) or you may pay a fee to any of the numerous websites that offer background checks.

Go to the police department or city hall. You can also look up information about public records online.
Have you ever been arrested? If you've never been fingerprinted and had your picture taken in a police department, chances are you don't have a police record. In addition, if you were arrested as a juvenile, and are now an adult, that record might no longer exist.

In Wisconsin we have a state website which includes a site called CCAP. Any criminal case that has been in the courts for the last ten years or so is there. If you would like to see it go to
wi.gov, click, government, click, courts, follow the links.
Your state website may or may not have it too.

Any police station should have access to your record (if you have one).
