Won't it be nice when this nation evolves to the point where children have freedom of religion too? We first have to get them freedom from physical harm like our adults have though.

It is wrong _not_ to take children to church. Children do NOT have experience or knowledge broad enough to make such decisions for themselves. That is the precise reason that adults KEEP their children and hopefully train them in the proper ways.
The "age of reason" is said to be 13, at least that's when my childhood church would recognize a person's commitment to Christ.
If your parents 'dragged you to church', that only proved that they did love you and wanted the best life possible for you.
BTW, you (and everyone else) are "some kind of sinner" and there is not a thing you can do to change that.
However, you _can_ be forgiven and since you were 'fed all this rubbish as a child', you know how to go about that.

If what you got out of church as a child was that you were some kind of sinner then I would have to conclude that you were taken to the Catholic church. Sadly many people feel as you do because of the guilt the Catholic leaders place on their congregations. Some people feel that if they don't feel guilty then they must not be worshiping God in the right way. I wish you could erase what you had learned as a child and come to know the God of the Bible

No it won't be unlawful. This us of a replaced into in accordance with Biblical principals. It replaced into component to the fare to quickly and pray as a Christian faith to pass over on the Mayflower. The forefathers used the ten Commandments as a foundations to the preamble. and that they used to stop and pray in the homestead and Senate if there replaced right into a distinction of opinion. in case you prepare up a toddler then he or she won't leave from it while they are previous. definite they could pass away the church yet they gets back to it!

No it is not wrong to bring children to church however I think it is wrong to force them into church. I wasn't raised in a religious family, no church at all and was told I could decide that for myself when I was grown. As a grownup I have studied religions in-depth for many many years, as a grownup well over the age of 30 I accepted Jesus as my savior and have never turned from him and will never turn from him, I know what it's like all to well to not have him in my life. So yes they would accept it and maybe even more readily then someone like you who was taken to church but never came to know Jesus as their savior.

Proverbs 22:6
Train a child in the way he should go,
and when he is old he will not turn from it.
Wanting the best for my child, I choose to train my child to be compassionate, loving, unselfish, forgiving, and a help to those around them. In other words, Christ-like. She learns from many sources: me and the way I choose to live my life as well as going to church. I cannot "save" anyone, but by exposing her to good influences, the Holy Spirit speaks to her and she's free to act on that.
Our children are exposed to so many bad influences in today's society, I think taking your child to church at least gives them ALL the options. Now that's truly freedom.

Just as you have proven, it doesn't matter if you are "dragged" into church as a child, you will still make up your own mind.
Church is a family time, and as you stated, children cannot make up their own minds so they are not allowed to make their own decisions. They should go to church with their parents.
As far as accepting Jesus, they have to do that on their own.
As far as knowing right and wrong, they are born with a conscience, we all are. We all know the difference between right and wrong. We all (even children) make a conscious decision to take action on what we do. The difference is that because children cannot understand who God is (on our level of understanding) they will not go to Hell if they die, they go to Heaven.

Of course not. There is this one thing....I'm trying to remember........oh yeah, parenting. Children can make up their minds anytime they feel that they can do that. I know plenty of people that were raised Catholic and now practice a different religion. Or no religion.

I'm sorry you were force fed religion. However, I think it is a good thing to bring people (especially perfect little children) to church just to form a community. My church community is the only thing keeping me alive. Just to be with families for one or two days a week is enough to keep me from blowing my brains out with a .45 magnum. Maybe by going there you may have saved a life. Who knows?

My nephew is 25 and so upset with his parents for never having introduced him to any sort of religious background. He is just now going to church for the first time and trying to understand why he had to struggle with so many things when the knowledge of God and his directions would have saved him so much trouble. I cannot speak for others.

We are all sinners no matter what our age may be. But children are not held accountable(at least with God,government is another story) until they reach an age of understanding what is right and wrong.
