Hi, I'm just trying to install a new head unit into my Clio (1998) to replace the original tape player that was in there. After connecting all the wires (using the harness adapter) and aerial... the system powers up and finds radio stations but has no sound coming out of the speakers??

It "sounds" like you haven't hooked up the speakers properly or the radio isn't putting out enough electrical current to make sound. You might want to have it checked out by someone that works/installs radios for a living or a technician.

Installing radios is a tricky thing, you have to get the wires exactly right or nothing works right.

Good luck and hope this helps.

You probably have a speaker wire or speaker terminal that is touching the car body and shorting out. When this happens, most radios go into a "protection mode" that cuts out power to the speakers to protect the radio's internal amp. Correct this problem and your speakers should come back on. Some cars share a common ground wire for all speakers. If this is the case with your car, you will need to run new speaker wires with a separate ground wire for each speaker.
