i was a small property developer/investor up until 3 years ago when the property market went flat. then my wife died of cancer which basically put me out of action up until now and i have also been looking after my 10 year old daughter. financially i have to start making money again but if i am honest i am not sure i want to go back doing what i did before. the problem is i don't know what else i could do. where can i look to get inspiration ?

Why not look into some college courses in something you would really enjoy. Maybe website building so you could work from home and still be there for your daughter. Or something else that catches your interest. It would also get you out and about again making new friends and possibly socialising if you feel up to it.Good luck in whatever you choose to do.

Do what you can do better. There is your comparative advantege.
Have you ever thought of opening organic produce shop? Get the fruits form the organic farmer and sell them at your small supermaket.
