Download IRS Publication 17 at irs.gov and read the section in Chapter 1 titled "Which form Should I use?" on page 8.

You want to pick a tax form that will provide a lot of extra coloring space. I find that the 1040EZ offers a healthy mix of shapes and patterns for even the most discriminating artist.

If you plan on using the tax form as a toilet seat cover, you might want to look into the 1099.

Now if you'll excuse me, all this talk on tax forms is making my mouth foam like a rhinoceros

It depends on whether you are itemizing deductions, if you had investment income, capital gains, lots of things.

If your return is pretty straight forward and you aren't itemizing, use the 1040EZ.

If your adjusted gross income is less than $52,000, you can e-file at the IRS website (it fills out the forms for you and you don't have to try to figure out which one to use) Web link below
