My sister was an alcoholic at 13. By 18, she'd totalled FIVE cars (fortunately, all one-car wrecks with no injuries) and had racked up a total of ONE traffic ticket, for failure to obey a stop sign. I think in small towns thirty years ago the police thought that sweeping a problem under the rug was "helping." Her out-of-control nights broke furniture, windows, hands and noses and hearts. She needed help, and your sister does, too. The good news is that my sister now has 25 years of sobriety under her belt.
Calling the cops was what you needed to do -- obviously, her drunken, emotional state was so bad that she was a danger. I would guess that the detention is because of her actions with the police. If this is her first offense, maybe she'll get ordered to counseling or rehab. That sounds like a good thing.
Don't feel guilty -- you did what needed to be done, for your sake and hers.

A lot of hurt is coming out in your sister. A fifteen year old drinking is no good. I assume friday night your mother was away.
Evidently your home is missing discipline from a responsible parent because 15 yr. old teenagers should not be drinking. I'm hoping she will get some help, because if this happens at 17 yrs. old she will be an adult in most states. If you have a pastor in the community please go talk to him. I've never seen a home need the Lord more than your home. Ask Jesus to come into your life and change your home.

Well she is drinking and went crazy on the cops just at 15? Is your parents aware of her drinking habits? Anyway dont fell guilty as you have done the right thing. If she was not taught the right lesson at the right time then you wont know what she might end up doin when she is 20 and get into worst problems.

You shouldn't have hit her though, she can get you for assult.

But, as for calling the cops. No you did the right thing. She's 15 and shouldn't be that crazy drunk. She also could be getting a thearpists help about her emtoinal outbreaks. SHe won't like you for awhile, but when her life and her mood start to improve, she'll thank you..

No need crying over split milk. But I think that you should have tried to sort it out with your sister by walking out and leaving her in the house. A criminal record can harm anyone's chances in life. You sister needs counselling and love, not police detention. In a way you may end up ostracising her.

IT'S A REAL BAD SITUATION THINGS GOT OUT OF HANDS, YOU DID NOT WANT WHAT HAPPEN TO HAPPEN. NOW YOU GOT TO FIND A WAY TO CONVEY THIS TO YOUR SISTER. SHE MAY UNDERSTAND LATER AFTER SHE GET OVER THE ANGER, I'M SO SORRY BUT SISTER ARE VERY SPECIAL. YOU SHOULD NEVER FIGHT PHYSICALLY AT ANY TIME. I HOPE YOU GUYS CAN WORK THIS OUT, MY HEART GOES OUT TO BOTH OF YOU. NO MATTER WHAT YOU STICK IT OUT WITH HER . SHE IS NOT GOING TO MAKE IT EASY BUT DON'T WALK AWAY. LET HER KNOW YOU LOVE HER AND YOU WILL NEVER CALL THE POLICE ON HER AGAIN. SHE IS GOING TO BE ANGERY LIKE I SAID STAND BY HER BECAUSE YOU DID CALL THE POLICE,AGAIN STAND BY YOUR SISTER OKAY, AGAIN TELL HER YOU LOVE AND WILL NEVER CALL THE POLICE ON HER AGAIN A SISTER CONNECTION IS VERY SPECIAL NOTHING AND NO ONE SHOULD BE ABLE TO COME BETWEEN THAT. AND BOTH OF YOU STOP DRINKING AND GET SOME HELP.

You did the right thing. The reason we have so many repeat offenders is that nothing s done because they are young, so they don't learn not to do it. If there is a hearing or anything you can attend, reccommend she get treatment for drinking, rather than just lock up.

Well you're sister needs to learn how to control herself. What is a fifteen yr old doing drinking? No I wouldn't feel bad she has to learn to take responsibility for her actions.
