Mental quickness is more critical than physical reaction times. When the engine quits, you want to know what to do first rather than time how fast you can do it. Doesn't help to be fast if it's the wrong move.

I don't completely understand your question. Are you asking what a person's reaction speed have to be to become a pilot? If so, there is no specific speed that's needed. You train and train and train for different types of emergencies and situations that eventually it all becomes second-nature. Plus, there are checklists that HAVE to be followed.

I'm not too sure sorry but heres an interesting fact, aeroplanes emit the highest form of radiation. The lethal dose at one given time is 9.4 RAD, and over a year the pilot is exposed to 14 RAD.
