You poor thing, just send me your address and I'll send some really nice helpful people around to get you out of this mess you've got yourself in..... They are called the immigration police. You are an illegal, GO HOME

Pretty tough situation man. You didnt mention the country, I will assume - US.
Well, first thing that jumps to mind -
1. Marriage Fraud. I am not judging you thats what officials will see (even without your mentioning money for the interview). Pakistan is the #1 country for marriage frauds, so your descent works against you. So in this case there is no asylim, no nothing. Plus its not clear why you are going to be prosecuted - Its not written on your face taht you married a cristian, and it wasnt announced on Pakistani television (of course if you have one).

2. Second, you should have moved on (more like moved out), once you understand your papers are being screwes/marriage got awry. I mean at this point, if you went to INS and tell them - its not working, i am divorcing i want out, they would more likely to help you.

3. I dont know what to do for you. But options are waiter here or back to Pakistan, because by laws you are in big trouble.

There is nothing to stop you leaving the country even if your visa is not valid. So long as your passport is valid you can travel to your homeland - ie Pakistan. If it is not valid just go to the Pakistan High Commission and get an ETD (Emergency Travel Document). Can't advise you on divorce I'm afraid cos I know nothing about it.

Go to the police or immigration people and just be honest about what has happened. If you lie you will make it worse.

You have no alternative, so you have to do this properly. Go to the authorities and get things moving.

Tell the truth, You got married to stay in this country rather than go about the right way applying for citizenship. Marriage is forever, not until you get a better offer.

First of all I am ashamed to call myself American after reading some of these insensitive answers. This man has had a hard time and asked for help which takes courage.

For my answer you need to get a lawyer and apply for political assylum/persecution. It should be easier since you came to this country with a visa originally.

I am truely sorry for what you have had to go through. I know the policies are dated and hard to manuver. My husband and I have tried to get him a visa but can not afford the costs of him leaving for the interviews without going into bankrupcy.

This government no longer cares about the people

Start saving the money you are earning whilst working illegally here, and buy yourself a ticket home, I am sure your family will forgive you.

Hard life isnt it. What did you expect from Britain when you came over, study and get a free ride. May i ask, did you pay for your university fees? You make your bed, you lie in it, like we all have to!
