There are too many romantic songs out there so I need help picking one!

Bit of back ground info for you:
I'd like something a bit different not just the usual Ronan Keating or other slush

My Fiance is in the navy so he's away a lot. Something that talks about us surviving that would be good!

Pick something that dictates your relationship and makes both of you smile. My fiancee and I are not going with the traditional slow and lovey song. Were dancing to "Thats Amore". We both are of Itialian heritage and think it will lighten the mood to the wedding. Weddings are usually kinda stuffy and we just want everyone to relax and have a great time. Also since you cant dance a traditional slow dance to "thats amore" were taking dancing lessons to learn a dance to the song, which in turn is helping us bond and grow closer by doing activities together. If theres a song you really like and everyone things your crazy for picking it, screw them it's your wedding not theirs.

A friend of mine who likes rock music had Nothing Else Matters by Metallica - there's also a verson by Lucy Silvas which is really nice with an orchestra behind her.

I've always fancied either You Do Something To Me by Paul Weller or the Beach Boys one that goes 'what would I be without you'.

Here's a tip, do NOT pick "Amazed" by Lonestar. I've been to so many weddings with that song as the first dance, and most of them are on the rocks now.

Other than that, I suggest waiting until you hear something that speaks to you.

How about "You're Still the One" by Shania Twain or "By Your Side" by Sade. Both are beautiful songs about being there for each other no matter what.

Lyrics for You're Still the One-
(When I first saw you, I saw love. And the
first time you touched me, I felt love. And
after all this time, you're still the one I love.)
Looks like we made it
Look how far we've come my baby
We mighta took the long way
We knew we'd get there someday
BRIDGE:
They said, "I bet they'll never make it"
But just look at us holding on
We're still together still going strong
CHORUS:
(You're still the one)
You're still the one I run to
The one that I belong to
You're still the one I want for life
(You're still the one)
You're still the one that I love
The only one I dream of
You're still the one I kiss good night
Ain't nothin' better
We beat the odds together
I'm glad we didn't listen
Look at what we would be missin'
(BRIDGE)
(CHORUS)
(CHORUS)
I'm so glad we made it
Look how far we've come my baby

Lyrics for By Your Side-
you think i'd leave your side baby
you know me better than that
you think i'd leave you down when you're down on your knees
i wouldn't do that
i'll tell you you're right when you want
and if only you could see into me
ha ah ah ah ah ah

oh when you're cold
i'll be there
hold you tight to me

when you're on the outside baby and you can't get in
i will show you you're so much better than you know
when you're lost and you're alone and you cant get back again
i will find you darling and i will bring you home

and if you want to cry
i am here to dry your eyes
and in no time
you'll be fine

you think i'd leave your side baby
you know me better than that
you think id leave you down when you're down on your knees
i wouldn't do that
i'll tell you you're right when you want
and if only you could see into me
ha ah ah ah ah ah

oh when you're cold
i'll be there
hold you tight to me
when you're low
i'll be there
by your side baby

oh when you're cold
i'll be there
hold you tight to me
oh when you're low
i'll be there
by your side baby

We had Al Green - Let's Stay Together. Lovely song with a little bit of a rythem so it's not a really slow song.

My fiance chose "Angel Eyes" by the Jeff Healey Band for us- it's such a sweet song and not the song that everyone is dancing to!

Congratulations, by the way- and best wishes!!
