If you believe Jesus is God then you can imagine that he can sustain the universe in spite of us until he is ready to return. If you don't believe Jesus is God then we can exterminate ourselves and Jesus is not going to come back anyways because he is dead.

That's what would happen anyway. The problem is there are a lot of people manipulating political realities to fall into line with their perverse biblical prophesies. And after we have destroyed ourselves, and no "savior" shows up, I hope for their sakes the manipulators have good hiding places, because there are going to be a lot of very angry survivors, and what happens next isn't going to be pretty.

well if we exterminate our selves then we really wouldn't know because we died. however Jesus will return before then for if he doesn't than there was no point for him to die on the cross.
