Will the IRS accept?

For those in doubt:

When a man sells his daughter as a slave, she will not be freed at the end of six years as the men are. If she does not please the man who bought her, he may allow her to be bought back again. But he is not allowed to sell her to foreigners, since he is the one who broke the contract with her. And if the slave girl's owner arranges for her to marry his son, he may no longer treat her as a slave girl, but he must treat her as his daughter. If he himself marries her and then takes another wife, he may not reduce her food or clothing or fail to sleep with her as his wife. If he fails in any of these three ways, she may leave as a free woman without making any payment. (Exodus 21:7-11 NLT)

I wonder what kind of 'slave work' is included in that contract.

It's interesting how Christians cherry-pick the Bible, and I'm not referring to the Question, but some of the Answers. Since when is following the letter of the law "mocking" God. And since when did Jesus eradicate the Old Testament? He repeated stated that he did not come to replace the law, and that the law would stand until the end of time.

If I were to tell a lie, or commit adultery, or covert my neighbor's belongings, these same Christians would refer me to the 10 Commandments. But if I cooked a baby goat in it's mother milk (which is the original 10th Commandment) they would say, "oh, that's Old Testament. It doesn't apply to us."

And that, my friends, is the benefit of being a Christian. Cherry-pick what you want, throw out what you don't. Everyone does it. From Kirk Cameron down to Jerry Falwell.

Great Question, by the way. You should send them your daughter right away, because once we have a Democratic President who God doesn't talk to on a daily basis, you might not have the same liberties.

Dearest Erika R (below),

I was an ordained minister before waking up one morning and realizing that I could no longer believe the lie. So please don't lecture me with "if I went to church I would understand..."

I am not sure about the IRS, but as long as you pay taxes they should be OK with it. There might be a few other laws that you will have issues with however.

Western laws are BASED on the Bible. We have amendments. You would be in violation of the Thirtenth Amendment which prohibits slavery. Go ahead and file your source of income - Human trafficking. Plan on having some time on your hands.

No, the Bible does not apply to real world scenarios. It is a book of fiction.

The IRS will accept the cash that you receive for your daughter. They do not accept any form of barter or trade, however.

read it again!
it does not say that a man sells a daughter for prostitution!
and limits the sale of servitude to 6 years. in the seventh year a servant is to be released. Also in the year of jubilee all debts are forgiven and property is returned.

To the guy who went on and on about christians, cherry picking what they want and do not want to follow...

If you went to church, you would know what still stands and what doesnt stand, and for what reasons. There are biblical reasons behind it. Im not going to do your homework for you, youll have to figure it out yourself, but if you look real hard, youll figure out why we dont commit adultry or kill our neighbors, but we do eat meat.... look real hard now ok?!

They were not available prior to 33AD. When Christ died the Jewish Law was fulfilled and a New Testament was formed for Christians to use. You might want to pick up a Bible and read a few newer references. Have a great day.
