In the same way Karl Marx said 'Religion is the opium of the masses'.

I bet a Christian didn't know he would be agreeing with Karl Marx. :o)

When you have God, all of your other problems disolve away, just like when you do drugs, problems just disolve away. I guess having God is better for your health.

I personally prefer to live in reality with my eyes wide open. It's not as blissful as being a 'believer', but I've accepted reality so there's no surprises as I see innocent people suffer or babies starving and being abused.

No drugs and No God for me.... Life is just crap sometimes - but at least I'm not living in a cloud.

We used to speak of getting high as "freaking out". Occasionally, someone would react to bad acid by becoming manic, and were liable to do any stupid thing that came into their drug-addled minds, like jump off the Bay Bridge thinking they could fly, or stab someone to death 'cause they thought the devil was in that person. When Christians began talking about God (or Jesus) being their drug, you'd begin to back away from them, because sometimes even Christians would start doing really freaky things - including jumping off bridges and stabbing other people. We called them -with some justification - "Jesus Freaks", and they were NOT welcome in most venues.
While it really isn't fair or appropriate to lump all Christians into that group, there are still the occasional demented souls who do fit that category, and rather than pity them, it's a real good idea to keep an eye on them, because their religious proclivities do not cure or prevent mental illness. A crazy Christian is still dangerous, and if I hear someone say God is his drug, I depart the area immediately, my hand on my gun as I go!

I think it means that God is what that keeps them going and high. High meaning happy and enjoying life. Its a great feeling. Some people take weed or other drugs to get them there, a Christian has God who keeps them there without the bad results of the other drugs. Hope this helped.

He gets high off of God. The Spirit of God comes in and literally make you feel like you're floating. The love of God, when you really feel the intensity of it, you feel better than any high from a street drug.

It says in the Bible that everything Satan and this world has to intice you with God has too, example drunkeness by alcohol (worldly) being drunk in the spirit (Godly) anything that the Devil can use God has the real thing and it doesn't cost you anything it doesn't effect your health, and it doesn't effect your relationships

It means just what it says- these people are motivated by the high their fantasies induce. They're not interested in their fellow man unlike most atheists, just their self gratification.

Maybe a poor choice of words, it is popular to say I get high on Jesus. that is fine if they wish to express themselves in that way. It means he doesn't turn to drugs to solve his problems, or to rejoice, rather will pray to God when in need, and give thanks to God when he is grateful!
