i believe melissa is correct. The m4 is an updated version of the m16.. The barrel length and chambered round are the same. the optics are different.

no u idiots. marines are still using the M16A4..just cuz a gun has a retractable stock..dont make it an M4.only some marines are using the M4 but in general marines are staying with the M16..its way more accurate.

Yes they are slowly phasing out the M16s for the M4s.

I think you mean the M-14, don't you? It has come back in favor somewhat as a more accurate and efficient sniper rifle than the M-16.
