There is a wonderful "ghost/ spirit " town , if I remember correctly it was called Lily ville or something like that. The whole town believes in ghosts and spirits and during the summer they have these crazy work shops and other fun stuff.

Also Saugerites, Woodstock are on the way...... although they are getting yuppified. Try Rhinebeck.... or Greenwood Lake.

I have been to Ithaca in June, and it was beautiful. There are amazing trails and waterfalls, so many parks to visit. It's a college town, so it gets a bit quiet in the summertime but lots of cute bars and cafes. The Cornell campus is very impressive.
