I am getting married at City Hall and I really don't want to dress up but I don't know what I should wear.....any suggestions?

I got married at City Hall and wore a strapless light blue dress with flowers on it (it was more beachy though if you ask me) with flip flops with my hair pulled back in this messy type bun I always wore. My husband wore khakis with a hole in the side of them and a red t-shirt. When my friend got married at City all, her husband wore his dress blues (he was in the Marines) and she wore a simple white, mid-length dress. Nothing fancy, expensive or even dressy.
Its all up to you in what you want to wear. Some people dress up and do the more traditional with the white and a bouquet of flowers (as my friend) while others dress down (like me). If you don't even want to wear a skirt or dress you don't have to. A nice pair of pants with a top would even be okay.
Ask your fiance and those who are attending for their opinion and what their going to wear. If their going to dress up a little then you can or not bother at all (my husband and his friends didn't, I think I was the most "dressed up").

That depends...many ppl get married in city hall and wear jeans with some nice shoes and a nice blouse. What do you consider "dressed up"? You can also wear a simple long or short casual dress or you can do a nice skirt & blouse. Its your own personal choice if you dont want to dress up but if you dont want anything fancy then i would go to Macys and find a nice simple casual but sophisticated dress. It can be any soft color just as long as you wear the right accessories or you can play it by the season. If its spring, wear a nice spring colored dress and if its summer wear a summer dress...its all about how you wear it not what you wear! Your hair also plays a big part. You can have on something simple but if your hair is nicely done then it'll make you look ten times better.

yes, you would look weird going to city hall in a big puffy regular bridal gown. I would say change into it after your ceremony, to have the pictures done, but if you're not having a reception right after that then why bother with the dress at all? if you're dying to have a picture of yourself in a 3 figure dress, just try it on at the bridal shop and have a friend snap a picture. save the money for your kid's college funds, they'll thank you when they're 18.

I had a relative that got married at city hall, she just wore a nice casual dress, I wore a knee length whit dress when I married, my mom had took alittle round white halo shape hat, an attached a white veil cloth to it, it was nice. If you have a v-neck, or lower scoop neckline dress, a nice pair of light pink beads or white, would look nice, and a pair of white dress shoes. Hope this helps. You can wear whatever you'd like to. There's no set rules. My hubby and I went in jeans. It was kind of surreal at that point so dressing up didn't occur to us until later. But then it was no big deal to us since the whole process was about 2 minutes. We spent more time waiting in the lobby than with the judge.

Wear whatever you and your husband-to-be like. I think it would be nice to wear something at least a little dressy - it's a big occasion, even if it's a small ceremony.

nice cream coloured or white suit skirt or pants, but go the extra mile to have your hair done and flowers and the sexy lingerie
