Spelling is fortunately not one of them, and UNFORTUNATELY - and by experience.... - neither is the capability of being able to communicate with English speakers in their own language to the extent that the callers can understand what is being said !

Hi there. I did a lot of work for a very large call centre and they chiefly want a bright, helpful, can-do attitude. Back this up with basic literacy, good communication skills, attention to detail and a bit of computer literacy, this should be all they require.
Good luck, Steve.

Fluency in the language is usually a primary requirement. Ability to type.
