I was with him for two years. we lived together for a year before he got arrested. He has been in jail for 7 months. He will be in for 4 years, should i wait for him?

You want to know how long you should wait for someone who has been put in jail.
Well that all depends on how much you really love this person and how much you really want to spend the rest of your life with him once he is out.
If the reason why he is in jail because he done something to you then no you shouldn't wait.
Because if the crime was done against you then chances are once he is out it will happen again.
I have been therea nd done that. It is not worth it, if you have kids that is not good enough to stay and take a chance on it happening again.
But , if it wasn't towards you then you just have to follow your heart and wand mind and do what you think is the best for the two of you.
If it doesn't work out then you will know that you gave it your best shot.
But who knows you might come across someone who loves you and wdill treat you like a queen and respect you.
I was in the same situation, I have 3 kids by this guy and since Then I have met someone who loves me and my kids and treats us the wway we should be treated.
Every since I left my ex he has been in and out of jail for the last 7 yrs. He is currently in there now.

After three throws of the dice they are automatically released from jail, but with a $50 fine.
Seriously, though, don't wait for him. If it didn't work out later on you would regret losing those 4 years forever.

Listen, HE IS IN JAIL!!!! What kind of respectable person goes to jail! I would leave him now! The only situations in where you should wait for him is if he were framed (hardly ever the case, even though many people say it is) or if he were persecuted falsely (if you happen to live in a place like China, North Korea, etc.). Otherwise LEAVE HIM NOW!!!!!! HE IS A LOSER!!!!

Wait for him do what? Even though you may love this guy, if he loved you, he would wouldn't want you to put your life on hold for him. You need to do you, and if you still want to be with him when he gets out then take it from there. My friend has significant other in jail and although she keeps in good contact with him, and wants to be with him when he gets out, she hasn't put herself on hold for him. Suppose he gets out and has completely changed, you may not even want to be with him, and waiting for him would have been a total wait. You should live your life.

don't think u should wait and put your life on hold, as u do not know what u will be getting once he comes out, as prison changes people. i would move on with my life, and if someone else comes into your life, so be it. it is not your fault he made the wrong choices.

no i would't 4 years is a long time and time to waste and thats just it i feel that you would be wasting your time and when he gets out he most likley would be in the same way of life good luck with your decision

Depends on what he was in there for. I wouldn't wait for him to get out, personally.

you should only date people that, have a clean record, hold down a job, have their own place to live, and no drug problems. and a good credit history. your just asking for trouble if you dont.

Yes!!!! If you Love him ,be there for him and give him unconditional love ,especially if he was really good to you!he needs you girl .If you love him ,stand by him,If he treats you right ,even better!Be there for him!

i'd wait for my bf. if he went away..
just think how he feel.. i mean hes locked up he doesn't know what your doing.. he's probably scared.. and feeling alone..
you should stick by your man!
