Well toothpaste isn't made to eat, BUT If you swallow some while brushing your teeth nothing happens except it goes into your stomach.

Too much of anything can make you sick.
And toothpaste is a fancy concoction of chemicals.
Ever accidentally swallowed Listerine? I have, it made me very nauseous.

If you are an adult it is not bad, but if you are a child and your adult teeth have not yet been developed, then this can cause what is known as fluorosis----it is the brown or white stains on teeth and can be mild or severe!!
