I do not know about the Red Cross but have you tried putting an add in the news paper or you might try www.craigslist.com. You might hire a detective to find him if you have that kinda money . Also a computer geek could find out where he is from his military records, social security no , drivers license no ., check arrest or traffic tickets , voter registration ( absentee votes if over seas )etc .There are people that make a living at finding other people . Hope you find him .

You could try the SALVATION ARMY's people locator service. They will inform him that you wish to contact him. IF he is agreeable, they will give you the contact information. If he doesn't want contact, at least you will know and you can move on.

If you live in the USA, you could also try things like reunion .com or Classmates.com. The fee to join is steep though 60-70 dollars a year. This gives you the right to post a message at his former High School's site, for example and in the military section too. Of course he has to be reading these sites to get your messages.

first i would like to know how a father has not had no contact with his son or seen his son in five years,if i was you i would be contacting these talk shows i am sure one of them would like your story and find your son for you and reunite you two together on tv and i would be the fist to say i would like to watch it i would want to hear the story on why a person has not seen or contacted their child in 5 years.I would understand this if the mother took it away and never left no address but then you would have had to pay child support or something and would have at least knew what state they lived in .I hope you the best on finding your son and i hope you two can make up for lost time,
