If a casual meeting it may not matter, however, I attempt to always be a bit early.

Bad. It's discourtious to the organiser, may make the meeting last 5 mins later and put everyone else late and actually can cost a lot of money if you value up the attendees time.

It also shows a sad degree of arrogance on your part that you feel the need to even ask if could be good.

Bad! The person holding the meeting will have to re-cover things that were already discussed, or you will not be informed of some things that are important.

Worse to be late for a meeting than it would be to be a little bit late for a party.

Being late is never good. You cause others who may have other obligations to wait to cater to you. You miss part of the meeting and inconvenience others to fill you in. You interrupt the meeting when you arrive. Tardiness sends the message that you really don't care about the subject of the meeting or those attending.

It's much better to be early and prepared. That way you will be there to offer your help to others and it sends the message that you are professional and committed.

I don't know If you're asking because someone made you wait or because you were late. But just think about it, what do you think when someone makes you wait?

If I actually like that person I resign myself to always have to wait.. or I'll cheat and change the time on their watch. If it's someone who shouldn't make me wait I leave before they get there.

Overall being late for a meeting is bad.

Not a bad thing. Just means that you will spend 5 fewer minutes in the meeting.

Bad, the leader of the meeting remembers it, it can be disruptive. Having said that if you are late, do take the time to apologize to everyone at the meeting especially the leader.

It depends on your social position. The higher status a person has, the more okay it is for him/her to be late to a meeting. For example, if you have an appointment with the President of the United States, it's okay for him/her to be late, but not you.

Bad. Punctuality is very important. Aim to be at least 5 minutes early.

Bad, even being on time is considered being late.
You should always be 10-15 minutes early for appointments or meetings.
