Arrive in good time, look smart, be polite to everyone, even to those you dislike and it's really killing you, do your homework, have information handy, listen, remember what is being said, take notes, so you will have them handy if there is a follow-up meeting, don't be afraid of making suggestions. If you have taken notes from the previous meeting, you can take the time beforehand to think of genuine improvements. Try to remember names as well.

If you have a work problem that will make you a few minutes late, (It should not happen) phone beforehand apologise and let them know. You would have to have a really good reason.

Have an idea of what you want to say before you go. Listen to everyone else and be prepared to negotiate or change you views after hearing everyone else. Look smart. Remember everyone is human and has feelings and be polite even if you disagree with them.

Listen to what is being presented and ask questions if you have them. As a speaker I always appreciate questions asked because if you're thinking of them someone else in the room is probably thinking of them too.

Look interested.

I often spend time IMing people who are as bored as I am at the same meeting.

Spend most of your time looking at the person who is speaking. When you're speaking, make eye contact with most of the people in the room (depending how many there are and how long you have to speak).

Pay attention, do not bother people by interrupting or humming.
Speak when spoken to.
Or get permisson to speak, when speaking is allowed.

Keep your clothes on.

Fart loudly.

Announce that you have farted, but will persevere with the script.
Then fart again.
Your colleages will giggle, and never forget you.

Try it - it works.
