Chin ups are performed with your palms toward you and you use more of your arm strength when performing them

where as

Pull ups are performed with your palms facing the same way you are and your grip is wider....this is a more beneficial back exercise than the chin up

I don't really understand everything you've just said. So I'll just say this: Pull ups (palms facing away) are fantastic for you. They shape your arms and upper back in a great way. Chin ups (palms facing towards you) are good for the biceps. "Also i've been told you do lots of weights and lift it about 4 times to build muscle." Not particularly sure what you mean. Higher weight and less reps (# of times you lift it) will build more muscle mass, but don't drop below 7 or 8 reps and don't hurt yourself. Moral of the story: if you're in really good shape, you'll be able to do a lot of pulls ups. If you can do ten pulls ups, shoot for 20.

Same thing, but hand positions can vary the degree of difficulty. Overhand pull ups tend to be easier than underhand ones.
