I don't know anyone who would willingly decide to climb this mountain of stigma. Most people who are gay/lesbian are just trying to deal with a world that outright rejects them.
I think you are letting your opinions and judgements cloud your humanity. People are entitled to a basic level of decency regardless of what lame label you choose to give them.
The label given by someone judging, tells more about the person passing judgement than the person being judged.

i know that you realize the arrogance and ignorance of your argument, so i will now respond with intelligience and reason..
no one is imposing anything upon you.. that is what makes america great.. you are free to think, feel, and generally do whatever you want to, even if you want to be an ignorant, arrogant, and a hypocrit.. that's what's great about the freedom that we should be grateful for
and what determines exactly what liberties we have is whether or not what we think, feel, or do has any negative impact on another's liberties, (you should have learned this in 7th grade, but im not quite sure, looking at your question, if you got this far in school, so..) and if it doesn't, it is given to us.. usually.. except in the case that the government, which is supposed to be seperate from the church, un-justly determines what is right and wrong based upon a majority's religious beliefs
