Why not coordinate with the furnishings/accessories already in the room (or the new ones, if you are buying things like new comforters and such).

We just re-did my teen boy's room -- he already had a lot of blue and red, but he did not want those colors on the wall. We decided to put a chair railing up (painted a dark, melted chocolate color, along with the baseboards and trim in the room), with a lighter milk-chocolate color on the bottom and a nice biege color on top and on the ceilings. Door and closet doors were painted the milk-chocolate color. We purchased a new comforter that brought in the browns, mixed with the blues. The red now really pops as an accent color.

This look turned out stylish and mature. Something that he thinks he'll be able to live with for quite a long time (and when he goes to college, the room could easily be converted into an office without repainting.

Whatever you do, make sure that your teen boy is involved in the process so that he likes what is picked out.

Aqua blue is good. Or it depends what color your teen boy favorite. you can draw a coolest cartoon character on the wall by using acrelic paint, that would be very stylish.

Reds are fun. They are bold and outgoing. I would suggest to choose according to the boys' personality. Is he outgoing? Red. Is he calm and reserved? Blues or Beige. Perhaps he's creative and Eclectic? Bold Greens.

Better yet, take one of his current 'phases' like a sport or activity he loves and use one item to design the room around. I've seen some pretty neat hockey and soccer rooms.

Hope it helps! Good Luck!

Go for a greyish tone for the 80s revived modern look or a beige brown for a new modern cool look.

How about purple? And i don't mean a girlish light purple, but a deep purple. And maybe a bit of orange? At least my little brother liked it. :)

im a 15 y/o teen boy and i would ask him wat his favorite color is and put that with black. it doesn't matter wat it is just remember this formula [ black + favorite color = happy teen ] and if he says black is his favorite color then make it black and white or black and grey. plus if he likes put some flames or something cool on it too.
