No, fake tans like spray-ons and gels and lotions will not damage your skin at all, the most that can happen is an allergy reaction. That is why it's the safest way of tanning but also the most troublesome and unnatural and expensive as well.

I believe tanning booths will cause the most damage as I read that 20 minutes of it can mean 3 hours of sitting out in the sun.

So if you want something in the middle, go for outdoor tanning as you can have fun and also it's not as harmful as tanning booths. But it will still cause lots of harm to your skin..so have aftercare lotions that has Aloe Vera in it preferabbly and take good care of your skin!

I think many of your responders dont understand your question. Tanning beds do, but not tanning creams.

The best if you dont have fair skin is "Fake Bake". mix it with some other lotion and put in on REALLY fast. then wash your hand really fast. It will make you look so nice and dark and no it doesnt cause cancer. If you have fair skin.... I am not sure you can do the spa spray and it probably wouldnt make you look orange. You can get fake bake on ebay. it is awesome.

That depends on what kind of fake tan you are asking about. If you mean like tanning booths, then yes. In fact they are more likely to give you skin cancer then sitting in the sun since you are getting pure uv rays.

If you mean fake tanners such as mystic tans, or tanning lotions, then no. All they do is dye your skin.

damn right they do - not to mention they make your skin appear as it has aged faster.

I for the life of me have ever been able to figure out why some women tan so much while at the same time trying to look as young as possible.

that would suck to look 65 at 30.
