In some circumstances "hooking up" means getting together for association and I think as you know this girl casually, that is what she means. Even if she doesn't mean that, you should take it to mean that, and play it by ear from when you meet.
Clearly, if she meant hooking up as in sexual, you would have read the overtones.
Treat your time with this girl in a friendly way and if you feel she would like to go further, you must decide if that's what you want too. If you don't want to go further, simply say "it's too soon" to her. By her reaction you will know where you stand.

Dont listen to the people who say 'hooking up' is just about casual sex. That term has been around for a long time, but most recently the term has been hijacked. The traditional term meant "let's go out on a date." Why not take her out? You never know--you may be looking at your future wife?

2 meanings:
1. SEX
2. Getting together as a couple for a date - eg. "So, do you want me to hook you up with one of Garry's friends for the dance,...or just in general?!" You can usually tell which one is intended!

What got me hooked to hte sport was playing tee ball when I was little, my father was one of the coaches and we got to spend good time together, I had so much fun playing that I started to take note whenever I saw a game being played...whether it was a little league game or a big league game, I just enjoyed it. As I grew older the competition and comradare with the other players kept me playing, I was a catcher and loved being in control of the game. When I was little we got to meet the 1980 Phillies at our school (kindegarten class) and it was really cool, they spent time with us and then took us on a tour of the stadium, Bob Boone was my chaperone and he treated the three kids with him like we were family. Later we moved to CA and I got to go to A's games with my dad, that kept the fires burning, getting to see great games by great teams also kept it burning...I was in love with the game for sure, what made it a permanaent fixture for life was the day that Tommy LaSorda called my house to tell me that the Los Angeles Dodgers had just selected me in the draft....the guy is a freaking legend and he's calling me. My career ended in the minors but I will forever be a baseball fan because it has meant so much to my development as a human being.

Hooking up means, a casual date. Spending some time together. Call her, go out and do whatever you can that you both feel comfy doing - going to the pub, dinner, cinema whatever you want.

It sounds like a Green Bay Packer Fan, not to know something like that. It means, you got a Booty Call, waitin' to happen. Go Vikes!
