Now a lot of people are not going to like hearing this, but not all depressions you can get over. there are depressions that you will have rest of your life, even if you know what causes it, and am working on it, the thing is it will get better, then there is what they call a normal depression , that after about 6 months of medication, and hard work you get rid of and it does not come back. So it really depends on what depressed you in the first place, and how serious it was if you are or are not going to come out of depression for the rest of your life.

Knowing the cause of depression doesnot necessarily help you come out of it. If you are depressed you need to consult a doctor. Depression is serious stuff and you should take medical advice. If you are offered medication you should take it and do as you are told. In a depressed state you don't really know what is best for you. You may also need some kind of counselling. If it's offered take it. Although you may not see it - there is light at the end of the tunnel and you can come out of the darkness. You just need a bit of help along the way. Good luck!!!!

Because depression is a temporary state, despite the fact that always come back if is not treated. People with depression, those who didn't suffered any lost or trauma, find themselves depress for no reason at all. It's just a feeling, that has no apparent cause. It has been said to be a chemical imbalance, but the science is not sure about that.
I have depression, and I have been told the cause of my depression is genetic. My mother, my brother and most of my relatives from my mother's side have suffered of depression.
It's very hard for someone that never experience depression of this kind to understand this. A non depressed person, is mostly like to feel sad because of things that happens in their lives, while someone who suffers from depression feels sad for no reason at all.
Its very hard to live with depression, people tend to see it as sign of weakness when in the fact, it's not. It takes a lot will to live with depression, that's why is dangerous if not treated. It can lead to a suicidal.

It is difficult though not impossible. Share your problem or the cause of depression with your best friend and he/she will definitely help.
If that is not possible, prepare yourself mentally and whenever depression dominates, tell yourself that you have to and will come out of it.
If by any way you can get rid of the cause, that would be best.
Whatever it is, your will to come out of depression must be strong. That will help you. Others may not know how serious the cause is or what your circumstances are. So you have to be determined to come out and you will be able to find your way out.
I know it is easy said than done, but I think it is not impossible.

A depressed person can get substantial relief,in the long run, only if he does meditation regularly under the guidance of an experienced spiritual teacher. Going to the nearest sahajayoga centre will also help.

Are you confusing clinical depression with simply being sad about something?
Clinical depression is a chemical imbalance in the body. Even when you know this you need help with drugs to correct it.
Hope this answers your question.

Give following auto suggestion before going to bed:
" I am happy and full of life." and drink half a glass of water. When u get up in the morning again give the same suggestion and drink the rest of the half glass of water. Repeat the auto suggestion at least five times while drinking water.
