Hi, this is the link for you to find out for yourself: http://www.amari.com/coralbeach/ what you are asking about the place. It is a luxurious resort there, so you do expect top service when you are there. And it is not as cheap as suggested by some poster.

There are many choices in Phuket. Look through http://www.directrooms.com or http://www.asiarooms.com for other options.

hotel is not too bad, international standards and located quite close to Patong but not right in the middle of the noise and crowd. But there are so many hotels in Phuket that costs less and is more conveniently located as well. Have you tried searching for hotels at Karon, where it's less crowded and dodgy like Patong, but just next door so it's still convenient?

If you like convenience and nightlife, try Holiday Inn, I should think the prices are similar but Holiday Inn is better located. Right in the middle of shopping and right across the road from the beach.

A beach massage is like 400 Baht for Thai/Oil/ Foot/Head by one of the local masseause. You just head to the beach and find one. They plait hair there as well, do manicure and pedicures etc.

If you are looking at Spa, then a hotel spa is quite good. THey must be or you can complain and get compensated.

Hope you have a great holiday in Phuket.

i haven't stayed at the Amari but if you can afford that hotel don't worry about the cost of the taxi. taxi transfer from hotel will cost you a bite more, but nothing to worry about. as for massage it will cost a arm and leg for a massage at any hotel on the beach you can get one for about $10 and just as good. As for shopping I would say in bangkok your get better prices then the tourist trap in patong. Try the street markets your find some good buys to take home for friends and family, and of course yourself.
