Ignore all the idiots that have nothing better to do with there lives then come on here and make stupid comments! It does depend on what you want for shopping though, Newcastle is great! In Eldon Square which is the centre of Newcastle we have a John Lewis, Topshop, Fenwicks (large department store) Warehouse, Monsoon, Dorothy Perkins, loads of Sports shops and Jewellry shope etc. And on Nortthumberland street there in HMV, Next, M&S, Mango etc etc! There is plenty. But I personally prefer the Metro Centre, for Debenhams and House of Fraser etc! Plus all the cool restaurants and bars. Its also great for kids with bowling, laserquest and metroland (its like a mini theme park and creche.)

I would def recommend Newcastle for shopping anyway, I always seem to do pretty well!

All the major chains are to be found in and around Newcastle, almost any specialty shops you can think of are to be found in the area too. The biggest single shopping facility is the Metro Center but there are more specialist stores in Newcastle city center. If you live in or around Newcastle there;s no real point going somewhere else to shop, shopping trips to London are pointless, for example.

As Newcastle is a vibrant, busy city there are naturally large numbers & types of shops selling all kinds of goods.

It's not all stottie & brown ale emporiums now y'know!

:o)

I live nearby - the Metro Centre is definitely recommended.
There is literally EVERY shop in there.
From chains like M&S and Argos to little shops like Hotel Chocolat. The cinema is there - UCI I think, there are bus services, trains and taxis to get there.
It's famous for being the largest shopping centre in Europe, and it has its own theme park - albeit small.
